Lisa Betters Rothrock was born in California, one of five kids. Her father was an Air Force Pilot, and the family moved many times during her childhood living in Texas, Wisconsin, and finally settling in New York. This early training of cleaning, purging, packing and moving was instrumental in training her for her future as a Professional Organizer.
After graduating from high school with honors, she continued her education at SUNY Geneseo majoring in business, and joining the sisters of the Alpha Kappa Phi Sorority. Within a year she moved to Rochester to get married and start a family. She completed her studies and graduated from Bryant & Stratton Business Institute with a degree in Business Marketing & Management.
During her diverse career Lisa has held a number of positions in both Accounting and Marketing. Some of the positions she has held include: Recruitment Director for McDonald’s Corporation, Marketing Director for Finger Lakes Castle Products, Registered Sales Associate with Salomon Smith Barney, Communications Specialist for Hope Lutheran Church, and VP of Operations with Loweke & Brill Consulting Group. During this time she was also teaching Water Fitness classes at the YMCA and in 1996 began a part-time bookkeeping business. Both of these activities she is still actively involved in. Through these experiences’ she developed the skills to be a business owner and entrepreneur.
In 2009 she launched her business Get Better Organized as a Professional Organizer, fulfilling her dream of being self-employed and serving people with organizational challenges. While getting her business going and expanding her client base, Lisa worked part-time for Agape Counseling in Penfield and Big Tree Counseling in Geneseo. This experience was beneficial in understanding the emotional needs of the Chronically Disorganized, Hoarders, and clients that are going through life situations that attributed to the clutter such as divorce, death, ADHD, and seniors with reduced functionality. She became a trained Lay Counselor to further assist her clients during the organizing process.
Lisa is a member of NAPO (National Association of Professional Organizers), Faithful Organizers, NAPW (National Association of Professional Women), and American MENSA Society. She specializes in residential and small business organizing and especially likes working with seniors and the chronically disorganized.
Lisa has also been very active in the community, holding a variety of volunteer positions including Treasurer for Climbing for Christ, Financial Director for Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, volunteer at GEVA Theater, committees for Agape Counseling and at Hope Lutheran Church with Vacation Bible School, Worship Creative Team, Life Bible Study Groups and other various projects.
She is remarried and lives in Caledonia with her husband Mark. They have four grown children and four grand puppies. Between client appointments Lisa likes to scrapbook, workout and volunteer.
